I was born and raised in Nairobi and i can tell you that the Nairobi of the sixties, seventies and early eighties was way better than present one.In those days it was not unusual to observe city workers cleaning the neighbourhods and painting the exterior of the city housing. Those were the days when the city had effective Mayors namely Rubia,Lungonzo and Margaret Kenyatta. When Ngumba took over things started going downhill and got worse when Kahara took the helm.
I hate to remember what we almost brought into our country.Hate&killings.God knows how we love eachother inspite the fact that our politicians can really insite.
We’ll forever live in peace.God bless kenya, kenyans&let Kenya grow from our efforts.
I am proud that I belong to Nairobi….by any standards very few african capital cities built by indigenuous africans can compete Nairobi except the few which had foreign influence.
Nairobi is a great city only that chaos and insecurity are rampant. It is much more advanced than most african cities but I guess the ground work was done by colonialist unlike most african cities where europeanist did nothing simply becuase they were not there neither to settle nor to develop but to steal and control.
You will realise that the sixties were better for the British scent was still around but more africans had control more things went wrong.Hope its glory is restored
Hey I am from Mexico City, I was looking pics of Nairobi and I want to say that I am very surprised, because it looks like a great City. I tought there was not big buildings in the city.
Oh and about the garbage in the streets, dont worry in Mexico we have teh same problems in some regions.
I live in Nairobi find it a great city! It is a pity that fellow Kenyans don’t just realise this yet foreigners like Efko from Mexico, which is one great word class city, realise. Lets not just look at the negative side of thinks! There are problems everywhere and we should understand that even reputable ities like NY and London have there own share too!
